We are looking for aspiring butchers to join our Butchery Apprentice Programme!

If you are looking to earn a competitive salary whilst working towards becoming a qualified butcher, then this might just be the perfect opportunity for you! By completing this programme, you will become a qualified Butcher who is able to work independently on production lines in our factories. You will develop knife skills, understand yields, understand food safety and health and safety, identify features of carcasses, and produce quality products to meet customer specifications.

As a Butchery Apprentice you will complete eight weeks of off-site residential learning in one-week blocks with Bishop Burton College throughout the programme, this will be alongside your other apprentices allowing you to take part in fun team building activities. All expenses, accommodation and food are provided whilst you are at college. When not at college, our experienced on-site team will look after your development and make sure that you are learning new skills.

At the end of the programme you will have achieved the following qualifications as a minimum:

Technical certificate in Butchery

Functional Skills in Maths and English Level 1

Level 2 Food and Safety

Level 2 Health and Safety in the Food Supply Chain

Level 2 Knife Skills

After your apprenticeship you can progress your career through the ranks in butchery and increasing your earning potential, working on fast-paced lines with other skills butchers. We offer ongoing development opportunities for those individuals who are keen to progress and ambitious. Many of our previous apprentices are now Team Leaders and Managers.

The apprenticeship will begin between August- October 2021.
