We have a Development Chef opening and we are seeking either an experienced restaurant Chef with a passion for food, looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to move into a food manufacturing setting, where they can utilise their culinary creative flair, developing new product concepts for our retail customers or an ambitious passionate foodie Graduate, who is driven and looking to put their hard earned knowledge into practice.

As a Development Chef with Pilgrim’s Pride in our NPD function, you will be driving the innovation & culinary agenda for the business, taking full responsibility for their assigned categories and projects. Additionally, you will support Divisional development chefs to deliver across a broad range of projects, with a focus on delivering feasible & profitable NPD.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovation – Play a key role in delivering innovation projects and contributing new ideas. Leads assigned Innovation projects.

Passion for Food – Supports wider chef team to drive food culture across the business

NPD Projects – Owns and delivers assigned NPD projects, manages workload with support of Divisional development chef

Stage Gate – works with NPD team to ensure development is taken through the NPD stage gate to provide feasible & high quality new products

Commercial – Delivers NPD to commercial targets

Technical awareness – ensures technical elements of product are considered during development.

Customer – 1st point of chef contact for assigned projects

Sampling and panels – prepares samples and repeat samples. Runs tastings internally & externally. Support chef team in running larger projects and panels.

Our ideal candidate will be dynamic, resilient, proactive and keen make an immediate impact in delivering our food agenda. They will hold a Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent.
