We have a fantastic and exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our team at Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd, Kings Lynn. Reporting into the Head of Operations you will ensure the plant, equipment, services and buildings are maintained to agreed standards and achieving maximum efficiency to serve our customer demands.
Leading a team of Engineers you will be responsible for:
Ensuring planned maintenance is applied to all key plant and equipment in order to achieve maximum plant efficiency and minimise downtime.
Develop capital and operating budgets for the Operations Director’s agreement and consolidation into the sales budgets; to monitor such costs and expenditure against budget on a regular basis and to take corrective action as required.
Ensure that an adequate and secure supply of machinery spares is retained on site in order to meet the needs of the routine replacement of components and emergency breakdown of key equipment.
Manage, supervise and monitor the implementation of capital projects, liaising where appropriate with local authorities, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers and contractors to ensure their timely completion within budget.
Regularly review, in conjunction with production management, the efficiency of plant and equipment to contribute to overall factory objectives, where necessary proposing new production methods and/or plant equipment.
Regularly review and maintain records of energy consumption and develop plans liaising with other departmental managers, head office specialists, and appropriate external bodies for improved energy utilisation.
Delivery of ROI for capex projects
Ensuring that company health and safety, hygiene policy is applied by all staff in their work throughout the site. Particular emphasis is placed upon machine guarding. To ensure that all necessary testing of plant equipment and machinery is completed in accordance with the appropriate statutory requirements and that contractors as well as direct labour are following safe systems of work.
Supporting the Shift Leaders in motivating the teams to achieve production targets.

Knowledge and experience of food industry ideally within a cooked meats environment
First line management experience
Time served as a Multi Skilled Engineer
