We have an exciting new opportunity for an Engineering Senior Supervisor. Acting as a deputy to the Engineering Manager, you will be taking a hands-on approach to both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, making sure that a clearly communicated safe system of work is applied to all activities the team undertake and that that the engineering team are always working safely.

You will ensure that assets are ready to produce products of an excellent quality and are despatched on time. Furthermore, you will coach, train and give advice to Engineering colleagues to improve their knowledge, acting to build a culture of a professional engineering team.

Whilst ensuring that all aspects of area operation are adequately resourced and scheduled with correct skill levels, you will also be creating and maintaining a motivated team and working towards their continuous improvement. You will be supporting improvement projects as well as setting standards and monitoring performance, including coaching, following up and giving feedback. Whilst co-ordinating project work and conducting data analysis, you will be overseeing the performance of external contractors.

Our ideal candidate will be an apprentice trained engineer, with a recognised mechanical or electrical qualification and a detailed knowledge of engineering systems and procedures. You will have a clear understanding KPI improvement under the five manufacturing pillars and be ready to actively encourage, organise and apply lean techniques and processes. You will be able to deliver quality and accuracy in your own team’s work and effectively utilise resources and colleagues whilst coping well under pressure. You will have a good understanding of management operating systems and IT-based packages. We’re looking for a problem solver who can provide effective solutions and act on decisions.
