Role Accountabilities::

Health & Safety – To ensure that a safe working environment exists for all employees in their operation and that as a minimum their area meets the standards set out in the Group Health & Safety policy as well as site strategy and objectives.

Technical Integrity – To ensure the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping, across the Ruskington site. To implement the Hygiene Strategy for site.

Budget control – The ability to plan and deliver all Hygiene budgeted costs including labour and materials. To consistently challenge budget cost centres.

Team Structure & Development – Ensure that the team structure is fit for purpose across your area of responsibility. Involvement in the selection process for direct reports. Ensures that FTE and agency support in area of responsibility are managed in line with company procedures in all aspects of their employment, ensures there is a positive employee relations culture where indicators such as grievances, absence, turnover rates are in control.

Measurement & Control – Utilise appropriate agreed KPIs as a basis for the development of Performance Improvement Plans within the Operation and cascade these KPIs through the Team, ensuring that they are translated and used at all levels. Plan, organise, and measure resources to ensure that targets are met.

People Development – Owns training and development and performance management of individuals within their area to enable progression to resource growth or to replace current roles, and to ensure that the necessary skills are in place at all times.

Communication – To ensure that the workforce in their operation is well informed on relevant business news and to encourage effective cross-functional links and those channels of communication are clear and available.

Continuous Improvement – proactively looks at ways to improve their operation. A key player in demonstrating and promoting industry best practice. Recognised as the Hygiene expert on shift. Ability to interpret relevant technical data and microbiological results and act accordingly. Partake in group initiatives & forums.

Employee Relations – Support and develop a departmental culture in their area where individuals feel able to challenge the status quo and encourage feedback from all colleagues. Support and implement change processes within their area in line with Pilgrims values.
