We are currently looking for a Maintenance Manager to join the engineering department at our site in Redruth. The Maintenance Manager will oversee the maintenance team and service contracts. They will deliver and evolve the site planned preventative maintenance strategy to ensure optimum performance of the sites plant and machinery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Consistently inform the Engineering Manager on present and any foreseeable situations with either their staff or machinery, which may compromise engineering cover or machinery availability to production.
Assume the Engineering Manager role in their absence.
Manage and co-ordinate preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance quickly and efficiently to cause the least amount of machinery downtime as well as projects stipulated by the engineering manager.
Liaise with maintenance staff & contractors to ensure buildings & equipment on site are maintained to a high standard and kept in a good working order.
Communicate with the engineering shifts and production managers/supervisors of past and present breakdowns/malfunctions.
Analyse production/engineering SIC downtime data and implement any corrective actions to improve efficiencies through continuous improvement.
Investigate customer complaints and implement any avoidance measures.
Ensure all administration paperwork and records completed by their team are accurate and kept up to date.
Carry out audits and checks on maintenance standards, stock control and PPE.
Make certain all Engineering staff abide by the Engineering Depts policies & procedures.
Ensure the correct use and monitoring of the company’s Permit to Work and visitor system
Ensure all work undertaken complies with the Engineering departments policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
To be successful you will have a sound technical background, good leadership and strong team building skills, good communication skills and the ability to manage tasks using a lateral methodical approach. You will also be highly motivational and have a flair for fault finding and rectification.
Time served mechanical/Electrical Engineer at a minimum of ONC level is essential as well as a minimum of 5 years post apprenticeship experience and a proven track record in managing a team of engineers.
Additionally, you will have an in-depth knowledge of engineering systems, PPM, CMMS, Permit to Work systems, etc. as well as the knowledge of legislative requirements including L8, LOLER, DSEAR, MCERT, etc.
