We have positions for 4 on, 4 off Shifts

Scope and Purpose:

Supporting a breakdown repair, PPM and bespoke project, maintenance function for the site.

Key Accountability – Main tasks

To provide technical support in response to breakdowns on plant and equipment, including good fault finding techniques.

Deliver electrical and mechanical maintenance across the site on all equipment.

Knowledge of PLCs and controls, invertors and drives.

Respond promptly and effectively to ensure quick resolution to any equipment issues to minimise any downtime, quality and efficiency problems.

Participate constructively as a member of the dept, keeping everyone informed and proactively share your knowledge and expertise within the team;

Apply lean thinking techniques to ensure the productive capability of the plant is optimised and improved thus demonstrating commitment towards achieving factory targets, including prompt start up times.

Actively support the ‘lean thinking teams’;

Work with site personnel and commissioning engineers to ensure required process skills training is performed for all new equipment;

Optimise spares holding to effective levels to maintain equipment efficiency;

Ensure compliance with all site policies and rules for quality, safety and the environment;

Understand and contribute using a range of risk assessment techniques in order to ensure safety of plant, equipment and people;

Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness of quality, safety and the environment;

Demonstrate visible leadership within the factory by the application of good behavioural safety principles in all activities.

Competent IT/computer skills including holistic literate.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Apprentice served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer qualified to City & Guilds standard or equivalent experience.

Ideally continuous exposure to relevant work procedures, post apprenticeship or equivalent experience within a factory engineering environment with a proven track record
