Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd and Moy Park are two leading food companies within the UK that have joined together to offer an outstanding, industry leading opportunity for our next generation of veterinary leaders.

BQP is the largest pig producer in the UK, working with over 350 partnership farmers to supply high welfare, quality pork products to premium markets. Part of Pilgrim’s Pride Ltd, we are a totally integrated business and are proud of our ‘farm to fork’ approach. The Agricultural team based at Stradbroke in Suffolk is made up of our team of vets, fields staff, technical and support staff working together to ensure that our supply chain from beginning to end operates within the highest standards of welfare, quality and efficiency.

As the European Division of Pilgrim’s Pride, Moy Park employs over 10,000 people across 12 manufacturing and agriculture locations in the UK, France and Holland. We are passionate about our people and recognise that our teams, along with their individual drive and passion, are the reason for our continued success. ‘Animal Welfare is a Condition’ in all that we do, as is creating a better future for our team members.

As part of our continued growth and business development we have created an exciting new opportunity for two recently qualified vets to join our veterinary teams across the two businesses on a two-year graduate programme. This will incorporate both pig and poultry work placements, enabling the successful candidates to gain valuable experience in both industries before specialising in one area.

Based in Lincolnshire, this graduate opportunity is supported by a comprehensive training and development programme led by our highly experienced veterinary teams and an RVC linked teaching practice. In addition, the graduates will have a mentor and the opportunity to attend specialist seminars and conferences held throughout the world as well as participate in our Aspiring Leaders Programme. Our benefits package includes a competitive salary with on call payments and a company vehicle, and if appropriate, accommodation allowance.

Your key focus will be working alongside experienced vets to support our farmers in maintaining the highest standard of pig herd/poultry health & welfare through delivery of exemplary clinical standards. A key member of the broader agricultural team, you will also work with our fields, technical and nutritionist teams to drive excellence and continuous improvement throughout our supply chains, giving you a valuable commercial perspective as well as exposure to R & D projects.

It is essential that you have strong communication skills with an ability to build business relationships across our farming community. You must also hold a full drivers’ licence. However, above all, you must have a keen interest in pig & poultry health, be passionate about the highest standards of animal welfare and be keen to pursue a career specialising in either outdoor bred pig production or poultry production.
