In conjunction with the planning team the main purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the planning of delivery and usage of raw material into Primal manufacturing and retail packing operations.
The Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production of time-phased material requirements based on planned production, Bills of Material, lead-times, order quantities and safety stock. A key part of this role is to maximise material availability within prescribed stock holding parameters which is based on being able to continuously improve relationships with suppliers, purchasing, site operations, planning, NPD and commercial teams.
This role is an integral one within the business as the postholder will be required to actively lead in ensuring that the departments have information, raw material and resources to produce the required products, against the required specifications and at the right time for each of our key customers – reaching the required service levels and KPI’s. Having the ability to investigate and communicate effectively when shortfalls happen is also vital so excellent communication skills are key.
The ideal person for this role is expected to be a keen ‘get on and do it’ approach, with good communication skills, able to impose standards, whilst being reliable and thorough. The postholder should have high levels of motivation and the ability to work as part of a team (without close levels of supervision) is key.
