In conjunction with the Senior Technical Manager and other departmental managers the main purpose of this role is to ensure the BRCgs AA+ status of the site and the implementation and sustainability of the Pilgrim’s Quality Pillar.

This role is an integral one within the business as the postholder will be required to actively lead in ensuring that the site is audit ready every day.and playing a vital role in ensuring that all of our products meet or exceed specification and to communicate effectively when they do not!

By supporting the production process with accurate and timely information around the key areas of quality, hygiene and technical specifications, this position will be a key member of the management team at Pilgrim’s UK Lamb, delivering a profitable and successful business performance. Your success will be measured through Third party audit scores (including BRCgs) and Quality Pillar Score.

The ideal person for this role is expected to be a keen ‘get on and do it’ approach, with good communication skills, able to impose standards, whilst being reliable and thorough. The postholder should have high levels of motivation and the ability to work as part of a small management team (without close levels of supervision) are key. If you are not afraid to ‘muck-in’ and show initiative then this is the job for you.

Skills and knowledge:

A good people person able to communicate effectively.

Experience of running a team.

Good organisational skills with the ability to lead projects.

A working knowledge of BRCgs.

Food industry experience (although not necessarily meat).

Sound understanding of food microbiology.

Qualifications

Food Hygiene

Degree-level education or equivalent desirable

Excel to Intermediate level (advanced is desirable)

Word and PowerPoint (intermediate is desirable
