We are currently recruiting for a Quality Services Manager to oversee and manage the Quality function to ensure safety, legality and quality of products and processes at Redruth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To ensure the day to day effective, running of the QA teams and functions, ensuring teams are producing reports on all information in an accurate and timely fashion to support the needs of the business and customer requirements.

Design, development and implementation of Site Quality Management System to assure production of safe, legal food to the desired quality and to satisfy the requirements of Pilgrims and customer standards, codes of practice and third party assurance schemes.

Ensuring key activities occur in an appropriate and timely manner to meet customer & business expectations. To deputise for the site Technical Manager, where necessary.

Be involved on customer visits in conjunction with the site Technical Manager, and be able to manage site visits alone, where necessary.

Manage Customer audits supporting the Technical Manager.

Assist in the monitoring and updating of the department’s safety data sheets and risk assessments, alongside the Technical Manager and/or Supervisors.

CCP audits / verification / validation.

Deputy Lead for the site HACCP team required to attend scheduled HACCP meetings. You have a shared responsibility for the implementation of the site HACCP plan.

Be able to carry out traceability & mass balance and ensure they are completed to include suppliers and despatch

Traceability implementation & management on site and challenge where appropriate.

Validation activity for CCP and as and when required to confirm food safety status, working closely with the Quality Systems Manager to achieve this.

Annual validations for shelf life, freeze and deep chill products to be conducted through the team

Must be able to undertake Root cause analysis.

Undertake internal audits as per schedule.

Manage the ATP / microbiological & environmental swabbing programme to ensure compliance

Monitor non-conforming product, and action as appropriately

To be successful you will have a sound technical background, good leadership and strong team building skills, good communication skills and able to deputise for the Technical Manager.

Additionally, you will have an in-depth knowledge of IOSHH (Managing Safely), COSHH, CIEH level 4 Food Safety, Intermediate HACCP, HACCP auditing, BRC, TFMS
