We are currently seeking a highly committed ‘Technical Manager’ to lead the site Technical Function at our Bacon, Gammon and Curing facility in Redruth. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and review of processes for BRC quality systems, HACCP and TACCP. You must also be pro-active in the implementation of continuous improvement principles within your area of responsibility and vigilant in the compliance of quality principles at operational level.
As a department manager and a member of the site senior management team you will need to be able demonstrate good leadership skills and a previous track record of driving a technically led culture whilst having sound commercial awareness.
You will be responsible for ensuring all the quality and technical systems at the site are compliant with current legislation, customer standards, customer codes of practice and certification bodies.
It is essential that you have experience of technical procedures within the food industry, ideally in both wholesale (bulk) and retailer focused operations, a degree in food technology and have previous experience within a senior technical role.
This exciting role requires a forward thinking individual, who is practical and has strong leadership skills, with excellent knowledge and experience of BRC, HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, QMS and legislative issues, along with a real commitment to raising standards. A methodical and organised approach, along with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is also essential. Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels within the business are a must, as well as the confidence to liaise with external businesses, such as auditors and customers. A proven record of customer facing leadership within a retailer focused operation would be a distinct advantage. You will also be responsible for effectively managing, supporting and developing the technical team.
