Pilgrim’s UK is proud to announce that the business has been crowned Net Zero Strategy of the Year winner within the prestigious Business Green Awards 2021.

Pilgrim’s UK 2030 Sustainability Strategy was recognised as the key pillar behind the award. Judges commented: “The quality of net zero strategies continues to improve all the time, but it was Pilgrim’s UK that won over the judges thanks to a comprehensive, ambitious, independently validated strategy that wrestles with some of the most complex decarbonisation challenges facing the agricultural sector.”

The BusinessGreen Leaders Awards returned once again to the Brewery in central London and the evening did not disappoint.

Matt Dight, Head of Sustainability, added: “I am extremely proud of this award which pays credit to the difference we at Pilgrim’s UK are making. Our sustainability goals are guided by our vision to become the best and most respected company in our industry, creating the opportunity of a better future for our team members and communities. This award validates that we’re on the right path towards achieving our vision – now we need to keep pushing forward with our journey.

“Sustainability increasingly guides everything we do at Pilgrim’s UK. It combines our vision, focus and targets as we take on the big challenges of our time around climate. And that’s why this award belongs to us all. I want to thank everyone across the business who has helped make a difference and supported the development of our strategy.”

With 24 winners, 39 highly commended nominees, and one Lifetime Achievement winner, the evening was awash with inspiring individuals, organisations and businesses which yet again demonstrated the difficult job on judges’ hands in picking winners.
