Carl Preece, Sustainability Adviser, is celebrating 35 years with Pilgrim’s UK this week. Carl has spent all is working life with the business and joined when he left school at 16. To mark the occasion, Carl is keen to share the support and passion he has for the company.

Carl said: “Before leaving school I was diagnosed with dyslexia which made my future options unclear. However, just two days after leaving school I joined Barret’s and Ballard, as it was then called, and hit the ground running. Over my years I have been supported with my learning difficulties by the business which has helped find my inner strengths and skills – this has helped me become the person I am today. The organisation has been through many changes over the years and it has been a pleasure to be there every step of the way to see it grow and develop.”

Carl has held six different roles since joining the business, from hygiene operative to quality assurance manager. He now supports the sustainability team.

Carl wanted to add a special thank you to Matt Dight, Head of Sustainability, and added: “Since the closure of Tipton Matt has been very supportive with me new role and a constant source of inspiration. His mentoring and guidance have helped me grow leaps and bounds and want to thank him for everything he has done for me and our team.”
