We are pleased to announce that Luke Hobson, Apprentice Butcher from Andover, was recently awarded the title of Best Apprentice Showing Management potential in a Manufacturing Environment.

Luke was invited to London for the awards ceremony, along with Robin Rolls, Andover Plant Manager, and Konrad Pacholski, Early Careers Business Partner.

Luke explained: “This is a huge honour and something I am very grateful for. The Worshipful Company of Butchers is a well-respected institution with many years of experience and talent behind it. So, to be awarded by them is a big tribute. I want to thank Konrad, Robin, Jon and the Andover team for their continued support and helping me get this fare.”

The Worshipful Company of Butchers is one of the oldest of the 110 City of London Livery Companies which can trace its roots all the way back to 975 AD – and is ranked 24th in order of precedence. Offering a unique centre-point to the British meat industry the Company unites individuals from all sectors of the trade and beyond and who, together, embrace and enhance the Company’s commitment to Charity, Education and Fellowship.

Konrad added: “Luke has shown bags of talent since joining our apprentice programme. Not only is his work rate sky high, but he also shows a thirst for knowledge – forever trying to expand his understanding of his job and the business. I want to congratulate him on behalf of the business and look forward to working with him more and more in the near future.”
