Dan McEvoy and Daniel Bland from the Dalehead Development team are preparing to take on this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon to raise money for FarmAfrica – and are asking the public to help reach their donation target.

Dan McEvoy, Divisional Development Chef, and Daniel Bland, Divisional Development Chef, decided to take on the challenge to raise much needed funds for FarmAfrica which supports farmers in Africa and is charity partner of the business. The fitness buddies are hoping to raise £600 when they hit the streets of London on October 10.

Dan said: “The half marathon is a good opportunity for me to do something for FarmAfrica and also tick one off the bucket list. Supporting a good cause like FarmAfrica means a great deal to me. We all know the importance of farming and food within our business and supporting developing nations through modern challenges will help us all globally.

“But we really want to smash our £600 target and hand over a big cheque to the charity come October. That’s why we are asking people to dig deep and give what they can.”

The duo have already started their training and are gearing up for the 13mile test which will see them start and finish at Hyde Park.

Daniel added: “As soon as we saw the challenge, we wanted to get involved. After already reading and seeing the difference FarmAfrica make we knew it was a worthy cause. Any donation – no matter how small – will make a big difference and we appreciate any support you can give. We look forward to being cheered on by friends and family on the day and reporting back with our finish times and total donation.”
