We are pleased to announce that Pilgrim’s UK continued its awards success last night (06 June) after bagging the Best Ready to Eat Product award for our Ruskington produced Tesco Ultimate Scotch Eggs at the 2023 FMT Food Industry Awards (Food Management Today).

The annual Food Awards champion innovation, service and great products from different sectors of food production, manufacturing and retailing, rewarding organisations, products and suppliers across 16 different categories.

Sam Reader, explained: “Our Tesco Ultimate Scotch Eggs have already been decorated by the Grocer Own Label Awards where they bagged the Bronze Award, so to have them recognised again is amazing. This is a true testament to the quality products produced at Ruskington and the soft set scotch egg is consistently becoming a favourite with consumers. The FMT Food Industry Awards are highly valued, so we feel privileged to get another award from them.”

Guests celebrated the industry in style at a ceremony held in one of Europe’s leading events venues, the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Sam added: “I want to thank everyone in the business for helping us win this award and the Ruskington site team. A big team effort and credit to every colleague involved. And finally, I want to congratulate all the other winners and nominees.”

The list demonstrates how incredible women are using their power to change the face of the grocery sector – as inspirational role models for the power women of tomorrow. As a business and industry, we are proud to be able to celebrate them as part of the power list and are confident in the impact this initiative will have.

Rachel added: “I also want to thank The Grocer for not only including me but also taking charge of this mission and helping shine a light on so many women in what I see as a rapidly evolving and changing sector. Initiatives like this are making a true and lasting impact and I look forward to seeing the sector embrace and welcome more and more inspiring women.”
