We are pleased to announce that Pilgrim’s UK continued its awards success this week (25 May) after bagging two more awards during the FMT in London. The awards included Best Training Initiative for our Graduates Operational Leadership Trainee Programme and Best Red Meat Product for our Waitrose Extra Trimmed Rack of Lamb.

The annual event took place at the Lancaster hotel in London which included winning products, companies and people – celebrating the best in the industry.

A number of colleagues went to show their support for Pilgrim’s UK which included VP of HR, Rachel Baldwin, who said: “To go home with an award is amazing, but to bring back two awards is an even bigger achievement. Both awards perfectly reflect our core achievements and values. Our training programmes represents our passion for our people and how we nurture and grow talent – as well as attracting the best people around. And of course our award for best Red Meat Product pays homage to our continued pursuit to create high quality products with key partners such as Waitrose.”

This year’s black-tie dinner and ceremony was hosted by celebrity chef Matt Tebbutt of TV’s Saturday Kitchen. The evening’s most prestigious award, Food Industry Champion of the Year, went to Bill Jermey, former chief executive of the Food and Drink Training and Education Council (ftc) and current chairman of the Institute of Meat.

Rachel added: “I want to thank everyone in the business for helping us win these awards – without our people none of this would be possible. These accolades also reflect the continued hard work and dedication of our teams across the country. And finally, I want to congratulate all the other winners and nominees.”
