Our Waitrose Slow Cooked Mexican Inspired Pork Al Pastor recently bagged Outstanding Product Winner – Pork – in the new Grocer Own-Label Awards 2022.
Judges were impressed by the Mexican street food inspirited dish which incorporates pork shoulder tumbled in a mild chipotle chilli rub. The dish is slow cooked for ten hours until meltingly tender, with a red pepper and tomato salsa.
Rachel Brockett was thrilled with the award and added: “These new awards recognise own brand products from a whole variety of market leaders, so to win the Pork category is a huge achievement. I want to thank the Corsham site for all their hard work in helping produce this product and our inhouse team for coming up with the idea. This is yet another button of approval for our growing awards cabinet dedicated to our new line and diverse range of products.”
The Grocer Own-Label awards celebrate winners from all the accredited products, showcasing the best across 17 categories, from alcohol to Christmas.
