Pilgrim’s UK has received a GroceryAid Gold Award for the third year in a row in recognition of its fundraising and volunteering efforts.

The business has raised money throughout the year for the charity, which provides practical, financial and emotional support to people in the grocery trade. The charity is looking to help over 20,000 colleagues this year alone.

Pilgrim’s UK has supported a number of GroceryAid events, while colleagues have volunteered for the charity and raised awareness of its work. In addition, the business is an active member of the GroceryAid Welfare Strategy Committee – contributing with expert advice and strategic support.

The Gold Award is the highest possible accolade businesses can receive, and is awarded to those that support the charity through fundraising, raising awareness and volunteering efforts.

Rachel Baldwin explained: “The past couple of years have been challenging for the industry, but GroceryAid has offered a vital lifeline for a number of workers in the sector. As a responsible business we’re committed to supporting our colleagues, and we often signpost team members to GroceryAid, which offers a whole host of support options.

“We’re proud to work with GroceryAid and earning this award for the third-year running is testament to the ongoing efforts of our team. We will continue to support them over the coming twelve months.”
