We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our Central Finance Team.

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial control over the company’s SG&A cost base, including weekly and monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Additionally, the role will support central financial control and compliance activities covering the wider business, including GRNI management and SOX compliance.

This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and effective financial control throughout the business.

You will be responsible for and required to undertake the following duties:

Assist in the preparation of month end files

Analyse data, investigating & reporting on anomalies

Involved in budgeting & reforecasting process

Business Partner to central budget holders

Prepare monthly journals

Support in checking Site monthly submissions are SOX compliant

Support central monitoring and validation of site level controls

Complete detailed balance sheet reconciliations

Oversee annual asset verification process

Investigate central GRNI liaising with stakeholders to close out

Support in the role out any initiatives to the sites

Follow lean thinking principles and make suggestions for improvement so that better ways of doing jobs are identified and implemented.

Apply problem solving techniques to resolve problems and recommend improvements to maintain costs at a planned level

Must be aware of all business requirements and understand the impact of their decisions.

Consider our internal customer i.e. other departments, retail customers and end consumer

Provide an excellent customer service by building strong relationships at all levels of the business

Act as an ‘ambassador’ for Pilgrim’s ensuring business professional conduct, approach, and personal presentation at all times.

Continually developing own skills through attending Company training

To communicate at all levels sharing information, knowledge, instructions, advice, support and understanding

Assume overall responsibility for the safety of self, whilst at work ensuring that all requirements as trained and laid down within the Company handbook, Company Health and Safety and Hygiene policies are adhered to

To carry out other duties that may reasonably be requested of you to ensure the efficient running of the business

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

Good communication skills

Strong grasp of basic accounting concepts and financial control

Health and Safety Awareness

Food Safety Awareness

Experience with accounting software, ideally SAP

Strong Excel Skills

Experience/Qualifications

National Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy

A Levels or equivalent

Part Qualified / or Qualified Accountant (study support package provided where relevant)
