The Linton team are pleased to announce they are sponsoring not one but two local community football teams.

The two teams include Cambourne Ladies Football Club, which now has the business logo on their jackets, and the junior boys’ team which has the logo on their shirts. Both teams are well known in the Cambridge community and have a link to the site.

Site Director, Zaggy Zachariou, said: “We are well known for our community work around Cambridge, and we are always looking to give something back. Local teams need sponsors to help them with funding of kits, equipment and more so when both teams reached out to us, we more than happy to help. This is also a way of spreading our name in the community and educating everyone of what we do and how much we value our local community. Team members linked to both teams were also very supportive of the move – which once again cements and proves how much of a family we all are here at Linton.”

Stephanie Swinyard, Senior Development Technologist at Linton, who plays for the ladies’ team said: “When I asked whether Pilgrims UK would be willing to sponsor the football club I play for, I was delighted with the positive response I received. The enthusiasm to support an adult ladies’ team was amazing to see and really shows Pilgrim’s UK as a progressive business in supporting women’s sport.

“The training tops arrived recently – just in time for our Quarter Final game against Newmarket Town Ladies in the Cambs FA Women’s Junior Invitation Cup on Sunday. The team were so pleased with their jackets, and they certainly helped us look and feel a team as we arrived at the game and warmed up. We went on to win 4-1 on Sunday, against a team who are two leagues above us! This means we are now through to the semi final!

“I would like to say a huge thank you on behalf of all of Cambourne Town ladies Football team to Pilgrims UK, we are extremely grateful, and the support means so much to us”.

Pilgrim’s UK wishes both teams the very best of luck in their remaining games.
