During a glitzy evening last night (17 March) Dalehead Linton was crowned Site Team of Year at the prestigious Food Manufacture Excellence Awards. The Pilgrim’s UK team also bagged the highly commended honour in the Sustainability Award category – making the night a huge success.
Zaggy Zachariou, Linton Site Director, was on hand to collect the award with other team members and explained: “I was on the edge of my seat before they said our name. An amazing achievement the whole site and business should be proud of. The last year has been very busy and has seen us go the extra mile to help continue our vital work and adapt to the ever-changing environment surrounding us. But I am proud of everyone at Linton for rolling up their sleeves when needed and adapting to these challenging times.”
The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards were founded to celebrate outstanding achievements within the UK’s fast-growing food and drink industry. Rewarding all elements of food and drink manufacturing, including environmental initiatives, business acumen, business change management, supply chain innovation, young talent and teamwork.
The Linton team fought off fierce competition from across the sector to take the title. The efforts of the business for our vital work within sustainability were also recognised as judges noted the important difference our key initiatives are making.
Zaggy added: “All of us from Linton had a wonderful evening and were proud to represent our site and the Business. I also want to congratulate all the other nominees and winners across the other categories. But most of all I want to thank everyone at Linton for helping us bag this award. Fingers crossed for more awards and glory next year.”
