Pilgrim’s UK was awarded Best Burger for our Waitrose Summer 2 Wild Garlic & Herb Lamb Burger at the recent Meat Management Industry Awards 2022.

The gong follows another successful year of nominations at the prestigious awards which also saw the business shortlisted for Manufacturer of the Year, Best Sausage category for Co-op Irresistible Caramelised Onion Sausage and Best Pork/ Pigmeat Product category for Co-op Irresistible Muscovado Roast Ham.

The business faced stiff competition but triumphed to take home the prize during a ceremony which was hosted by renowned entertainer Paul Zerdin. The awards recognise the best manufacturers and producers, suppliers, retailers and butchers in the UK meat sector, and are voted for by the readers of the magazine, plus various categories judged by experts.

Lee Rampling, MD Fresh, attended the event and explained: “We are proud to walk away with yet another award. The competition was strong this year, but we are pleased to see judges noted our hard work and collaboration with Waitrose. However, none of this would be possible without the dedication of our Linton site which produces this amazing product and more.”

The awards celebrated winners and finalists across 20 different categories during a dinner and presentation ceremony.

Lee added: “I also want to say a special thank you to everyone involved in the making of these special burgers who helped research and craft the final product – once again highlighting the importance of innovation.”
