We are proud to announce that are very own Rachel Griffiths, Chief Commercial Officer, has been included in the power list for the top 10 most powerful women in the meat industry according to The Grocer. The list also includes Ursula Lavery, Technical & R&D Director, at our sister company Moy Park.

The power list for the 10 includes women turning a traditionally male-dominated world of meat on its head and is published by leading industry magazine The Grocer. The list showcases some incredible women who are using their power to change the face of the sector. Giving many others inspirational role models we can be proud of and celebrate.

Rachel leads our commercial operations on a day-to-day basis. She was previously MD at its subsidiary Dalehead Foods, where she was responsible for commercial and financial performance. Rachel has also spent five years with sister company Moy Park as a customer director and boasts an extensive career, having worked at ABP UK for eight years. She began her career in Waitrose’s buying team in 1995.

Rachel explained: “This is a huge honour and pays credit to not only my many years of efforts but also the numerous women across our business. My journey has not been easy and has included my fair share of hurdles, but challenges I have not shied away from and worked hard to overcome and succeed. I also want to congratulate all the other women in this list, especially Ursula from Moy Park who I know truly deserves her spot.”

The list demonstrates how incredible women are using their power to change the face of the grocery sector – as inspirational role models for the power women of tomorrow. As a business and industry, we are proud to be able to celebrate them as part of the power list and are confident in the impact this initiative will have.

Rachel added: “I also want to thank The Grocer for not only including me but also taking charge of this mission and helping shine a light on so many women in what I see as a rapidly evolving and changing sector. Initiatives like this are making a true and lasting impact and I look forward to seeing the sector embrace and welcome more and more inspiring women.”
