Zaggy Zachariou, Linton Site Director, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Factory Manager of the year award in this years Grocery Gold Awards. The success follows the site recently being crowned Site Team of Year at the Food Manufacture Excellence Awards back in March.

The awards, which recognise the very best standards in grocery retail, will celebrate the extraordinary achievements of companies and individuals during another challenging year for the sector. With the help expert judges the team whittled down hundreds of entries to present the Gold Awards shortlist.

Zaggy explained: “This is amazing news and an award which recognises the efforts of everyone at Linton. I want to thank the judges for shortlisting me and thinking so highly of me. I know it will be tough and I will be facing some stiff competition, but to walk away with another award for our site will top of a challenging but rewarding few years for Linton and myself.”

The other finalists include Stephen McComb – Finnebrogue Bacon and Factory Angela Whatling – Heck Foods.

We all know how passionate he is about his job and ensuring Linton is recognised for going above and beyond. I want to congratulate him on becoming a finalist and I will be rooting for him to bring home the gold.”

Zaggy added: “I also want to thank everyone at Linton for working so hard and helping support one another – especially during the tough times. Our team is the backbone of Linton and without them we would not be able to shine or win any awards. I will have my fingers crossed on 14 June and hopefully we can bag another award for our growing trophy cabinet.”

Hosted this year by Sir Trevor McDonald, the awards will be held at Guildhall, the stunning medieval building in the City of London, on 14 June.
